Without Essien up to January

The midfielder of “Chelsea” Michel Essien had an operation to restore a cruciate ligament and meniscus, and therefore will be back to the team only six months later.
Michael Essien will miss all the matches of the group stage of UEFA Champions League because of recovery after surgery on injured knee.
The footballer of Ghana team damaged meniscus and anterior cruciate ligaments in the first week of preseason fees. The operation was successful, but the player will return to service not earlier than January. “Everyone in Chelsea wish Michel recovery – said the coach Andre Villash-Boash. – His partners and the entire staff, including me, are waiting for his quick return.”
This knee injury for Essien was third in three years. African played 149 meetings in “Chelsea”, but most of the 2008-09 season, he spent in the hospital because of similar injuries. Last year, the powerful midfielder damaged a cruciate ligament side and missed the World Cup finals in South Africa.
“Chelsea” won second place in the final draw of the Premier League and therefore will play in the Champions League group stage.
